Glenn Played by Steven Yeun
Glenn meets Rick during one of his frequent trips into Atlanta to scavenge supplies. Witnessing Rick's assault by walkers, he decides to guide Rick to safety via a handheld radio. "Call it foolish naïve hope," Glenn later explains, "that if I'm ever that far up shit creek, somebody might do the same for me."
Glenn used to deliver pizzas for a living, and his knowledge of every shortcut in town proves extremely useful to the group's scavenging needs. In order to retrieve Rick's bag of guns, Glenn formulates a strategy whereby Daryl covers his back from an alley while Rick and T-Dog back Daryl up from a block away. "Whichever direction I go, I got you waiting in both places to cover me," Glenn explains.
Despite all the horrors he's seen, he maintains a youthful enthusiasm for life and its unexpected pleasures. "I got a cool car," he boasts after stealing a sporty Dodge Challenger to lure walkers away from the department store where his fellow survivors are trapped.
Glenn is an integral part of the camp, showing depth and humanity after the group is attacked by walkers one night. While cleaning up in the aftermath, Glenn stops Daryl from burning dead campers along with the walkers. "They're our people," Glenn screams. "We don't burn them! We bury them."
