A TWA stewardess, Shelly meets Don and Sal on a business trip flight during which she mistakenly calls Don "William Hofstadt" because of the tag on his luggage. (William Hofstadt is Betty's brother.) Once they realize they're all staying at the same hotel, Don, Sal and Shelly make dinner plans along with another stewardess and the flight's navigator. Following dinner, Shelly goes back to Don's hotel room even after admitting she's engaged. Their evening, however, is interrupted by a fire alarm which sends them out of bed and into the street. When he returns home, Don gives Shelly's pin-on wings to Sally.
