Tim Hunter began in movies by co-writing Matt Dillon’s first picture, Over The Edge, then made his directorial debut in 1982 with his adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s novel, Tex. Prior to directing, Tim taught film history at UC Santa Cruz. A Harvard graduate and a member of AFI’s first class, Tim’s passion for filmmaking began at a young age. Having directed both film and television, some of Tim’s credits include River’s Edge, Saint of Fort Washington, and Control, and in television, episodes of Twin Peaks, Homicide, Carnivale, Deadwood, and the pilot of Beverly Hills 90210. When Tim isn’t directing he enjoys collecting books and films and spending time with his four children in Los Angeles.
