Salvatore Romano, a rare Italian amidst Sterling Cooper’s predominantly WASPy corporate environment, is the art director for Sterling Cooper. He works closely with Don Draper on his accounts. With wit to spare, it seems that Sal is more interested in pursuing the Belle Jolie salesman Elliot instead of Lois Sadler, the new switchboard girl who has a crush on him. Ultimately though, Sal declines when Elliot invites Sal up to his room.After hearing about Roger’s second heart attack, the ad men begin to wonder about the future of Sterling Cooper. In fact, Sal jokes that he’s already sent out resumes.
