Paul Kinsey is a young copywriter climbing his way up the corporate ladder at Sterling Cooper. He takes pride in his writing and struggles to get Don’s approval on his work for the Right Guard deodorant campaign. When Ken surprises everyone in the office by getting a short story published in Atlantic Monthly, Paul is consumed by jealousy. He, like others at the office, takes note of Peggy and pursues her on his lunch hour. After hearing about Roger’s second heart attack, the ad men begin to wonder about the future of Sterling Cooper.
One wild night at the office, Ken happens upon a copy of some of Paul’s writing -- Death is My Client, a one-act play – and to Paul’s relief, they all eagerly act it out.
