Harry, a married up-and-coming media buyer at Sterling Cooper, spends much of his time at the office following Pete and the throng of junior execs. He keeps lollipops on hand, as he’s one of the few people at the office trying to quit smoking.

Pete and Harry, while working on their Secor laxatives campaign, come up with a cunning idea to keep Kennedy off the airwaves and boost Nixon’s presence in the undecided states. Their risky play wins congratulations from Cooper. After hearing about Roger’s second heart attack, the ad men begin to wonder about the future of Sterling Cooper. In fact, Harry thinks Don will become partner and everyone will move up a notch.

One wild night at the office, Harry celebrates a Nixon election victory by planting a kiss on Hildy, who returns the gesture. Shocked by his own action, Harry retreats to his office. She follows, and they kiss again. It’s not long before Harry is kicked out by his wife and forced to sleep in his office.
