Alan Taylor won a Director's Guild Award for his direction of the pilot episode of AMC’s original series Mad Men. Before taking on this project, he has directed countless episodes of some of HBO’s most acclaimed series, such as The Sopranos, Big Love, Deadwood, Sex and the City and Rome. He has also taken on episodes of The West Wing and Lost.

In addition to his work in television, Taylor has directed the feature films Palookaville, The Emperor’s New Clothes and Kill the Poor.
