James Whittaker Wright III (JW3) is the new grifter in town, and he's looking for a top-notch crew to commandeer. But who is this stranger? He's none other than the grandson of legendary 19th-Century con artist James Whittaker Wright (JW1), who made a fortune with fake gold mines in the stock market. Sadly, when JW1's fortune became too much for the bank, they turned on him and left him to die penniless; JW3 has come to avenge his grandfather's death.
Initially wary, the Hustle crew accepts JW3's challenge; with the gang's expertise, they plan to ruin bank executives Quenton and Charles Cornfoot. Danny poses as a brash entrepreneur eager to float his mining company on the stock market, while Stacie plays a market analyst working on the inside. Having agreed to set up the float, the Cornfoots employ a Dutch oil consultant (Ash) to fuel rumors about the company's impending success, and to start selling shares to JW3 and Albert -- their newly found investors. As Danny irritates the Cornfoots, they begin to plot his downfall. Fully prepared for this, the team ups their game, but while their attention is focused on the marks, they forget just how devious JW3 really is.
