Walter White Jr. is Walt and Skyler's son. Born with cerebral palsy, Walter Jr. has some trouble with speech and needs crutches to walk, but is otherwise your typical high-school kid, with growing pains that include an attempt to forge his own identity by changing his name to Flynn.
Walter Jr. idolizes his uncle, listening raptly to Hank's tales of his drug-war exploits. At a party to celebrate Walt's cancer remission, Walt pours multiple tequila shots for Walter Jr. and becomes irritated when his son looks to Hank for permission to drink. "My son, my bottle, my house," Walt snarls when Hank snatches the bottle away. Walter Jr. ends up retching from the alcohol. Walt regrets his actions all the more when his son considers it a badge of honor that he "kept up" his drink count with the adults.
When Walt agrees to expensive surgery, Walter Jr. proudly creates a website, SaveWalterWhite.com, to raise money for his dad's operation. During a TV interview publicizing the site, the teenager expresses his deep admiration for Walt: "He always does the right thing," Walter Jr. says as Walt squirms uncomfortably beside him. "My dad is my hero."
