Marie Schrader is Skyler White’s sister. Though she sincerely cares about Skyler's welfare and helps to assemble an "oncologist dream team" for Walt, Marie often expresses her devotion in peculiar ways, as she when misinterprets Skyler's remarks about pot and sends Hank on a mission scare Walter Jr. straight about marijuana. At a family meeting Skyler calls to discuss Walt's refusal to accept help paying for his chemotherapy, Marie stuns Skyler by saying Walt should do whatever he wants to do. "You told us to be honest," Marie replies when her sister objects.

Marie nearly shocks Skyler speechless when she gives the cash-strapped expectant mother a white-gold baby tiara as a shower gift. Skyler confronts Marie after nearly getting arrested trying to return the tiara—the jewelry-store owner says it was stolen. Skyler wants her sister to admit she swiped the item. But Marie is adamant: She can't admit to something she has no knowledge of doing.
